Making a connection

Post by Deepol » Tue Jan 26, 2021 9:50 pm

I was asked recently if there were any connections between the Central Low Level line and the Queen Street Low Level line.
One such was that on the right of this Bill Smith shot of 40177 arriving at Crow Road with a train for Partick West and beyond.
The connecting line came out at the present Hyndland station and was used by trips shunting the LMS goods yard at Partick Hill.
I used to love watching the late afternoon trip doing its stuff with a Caley Dock Tank.
The LMS yard is housing nowadays and the LNER yard is a retail park .
Crow Road also has long been housing as well.
